Canadian Maple Tree

The Canadian Maple Tree. Acer rubrum is one of the most abundant and widespread deciduous trees in eastern north America. The Canadian Maple is correctly named as its flowers, twigs and seeds are all red to some degree. It is best known for its brilliant deep scarlet foliage in autumn. The flowers appear in spring from April to May, the flowers are red with 5 small petals. This Canadian Maple is used commercially for maple syrup production and is used for its medium to high quality timber. As with all maples, they are deciduous and the leaves of the Canadian Maple turn a brilliant red in autumn.
